I Set My Friends on Fire

Known for hosting a variety of music styles and groups, Beauty Bar Las Vegas lives up to its reputation in August with several concerts scheduled from top-tier bands spanning musical genres.

August begins with the experimental pop-punk group, I Set My Friends on Fire, on Thursday, Aug. 2, who will bring their “10 Years of Slaughter” tour to Beauty Bar Las Vegas and play their debut hit album “You Can’t Spell Slaughter Without Laughter” in its entirety.

On Friday, Aug. 3, the all-female psychedelic doom metal band, High Priestess will perform. Known for their hypnotic heavy music with lush harmonies, dynamic crescendos, crushing riffs and soaring improv sections, the trio released their debut album in May.

On Sunday, Aug. 5, Beauty Bar welcomes the internationally popular rock band, Sponge. Their singles “Plowed” and “Molly” hit #5 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Charts, catapulting the album “Rotting Piñata” to platinum status. The band gained notoriety with appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and the “Conan O’Brien Show” and having their music featured in popular movies such as “The Craft,” “Chasing Amy,” “Mall Rats” and “Empire Records.”

On Friday, Aug. 24 the Canadian folk group, Timber Timbre brings to the Beauty Bar their cinematic and haunting sound that has been featured on television programs like Breaking Bad and The Good Wife, as well as films including The Last Exorcism Part II and The Gambler. The folk group will perform favorites from their “Out of This Spark” album and their most recent album, “Sincerely, Future Pollution.”

On Saturday, Aug. 25, Boy Hits Car hits the Beauty Bar with its “passionately heavy music” infused with a world beat/middle eastern flavor. The band has toured the U.S. and Europe and is working on its sixth studio album to be released later this summer.

On Thursday, Aug. 30, the skeleton mask-wearing GosT comes to the Beauty Bar with their extreme metal, darkwave sound influenced by the synthesized soundtracks of classic horror films.

The month ends with a killer performance on Friday, Aug. 31 from A Killer’s Confession. The hard rock band led by vocalist Waylon Reavis travels to the Beauty Bar to entertain audiences with their powerful lyrics and unique sound.
